Google paints a good picture April 4, 2007

Google recently came under fire for painting a good picture of things. If you haven’t heard, it’s because they displayed images of New Orleans before hurricane Katrina struck in its mapping software. Many seem to have taken offence to this undamaged display of the city and now Google have reverted and replaced the pre-hurricane images with the more accurate depiction of destruction and disaster. I know that there are other reasons, political, here for such a demand but it’s the first time I’ve ever heard of a tourist location demanding publication of pictures that show it in a bad state… source: CNN.com
