Gmail no more? February 28, 2007

Personally I really hope that this doesn’t happen as I have grown quite attached to my @gmail.com address but there is a badger on Google’s arse, in a manner of speaking. Apparently another company already has rights to the gmail trademark and Google have already lost the case in the UK. If they lose the case in the US all gmail.com addresses might become googlemail.com addresses instead. That would really suck! Let’s hope that they reach an Apple/Cisco type agreement. source: WebProNews

Crikey, that is something. A lot of contact lists have to be updated.

Yup, it’s a nightmare scenario for all concerned especially since they dropped the invite only for a Google account. But above all, it just doesn’t sound as nice saying “googlemail” instead of “gmail”. :’)
