Lately I have noticed that my broadband connection at home is just not as fast as I thought it should be considering that I am supposed to have a 2Mb line. So eventually I got around to running a speed test on my connection. I ran the test initially in Firefox and then for morbid curiousity I ran it again in Internet Explorer. Shock and horror! The IE test was 0.35Mb faster than the Firefox test. So I ran the tests again, and again and every time it emerged that the IE test was much fatser on both upload and download streams. Why? Is Firefox a slow browser? Is IE a fast browser? This doesn’t make sense to me. See the test results below…
