This morning it was announced by the Minister for Transportation that there would be a move to partly privatise the driving test. In an attempt to decrease the backlog of driving test applicants on waiting lists around the country – this is the best plan that they could come up with. Let me see, it’s well known that private companies make money by keeping and increasing customer bases. To aim to reduce a customer base would mean going against the logic of doing business. Hence I can only assume that private companies carrying out driving test examinations would be an incredibly controversial move by the government. Then again that has never stopped them before…
